Terms and Conditions

Agreement
By using OfficeUtils, you agree to these terms. OfficeUtils is operated by Rasith Upamal, an individual based in Sri Lanka, not a registered company. In these terms, "OfficeUtils," "we," and "us" refer to Rasith Upamal. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site.
Who may use OfficeUtils
You must be legally able to agree to these terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use OfficeUtils only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for complying with laws and workplace rules that apply to your files.
The service
OfficeUtils provides file conversion and editing tools (PDF, spreadsheet, text, and image) that run on your own device, plus an optional browser extension. Every tool is free to use, at full quality, while we're in early access. We can add, change, or remove individual tools at any time; the core promise, that your files are processed on your device and never uploaded, applies to every tool we ship.
Acceptable use
Use OfficeUtils only for lawful purposes and only with files you have the right to use. Don't try to disrupt or overload the site, introduce malicious code, gain unauthorised access, or misuse the browser extension's permissions.
Intellectual property
The OfficeUtils name, site, and original tool code belong to us or our licensors. Some components are provided under open source licenses, and those licenses continue to apply. You keep all rights you have in files you process and their output. We never receive those files and claim no rights in them.
Your files and results
Files are processed on your device and are never uploaded. You are responsible for choosing the files you process, checking the result, and keeping backups. Conversion can change formatting, metadata, formulas, accessibility features, signatures, or other file details. Do not rely on OfficeUtils as the only way to preserve or verify an important record.
No warranty
OfficeUtils is provided "as is." We do our best to keep every tool accurate and reliable, but we can't guarantee that it will be error free, uninterrupted, secure, suitable for a particular purpose, or compatible with every file or device. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or guarantee that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising from OfficeUtils. To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for claims relating to OfficeUtils is limited to the amount you paid for OfficeUtils in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit, or limits any mandatory consumer remedy.
Suspension and ending use
You may stop using OfficeUtils at any time. We may suspend access to the site or extension when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or a serious breach of these terms. If a paid service is ended by us, any refund required by law remains available.
Changes to the service or these terms
We may change the service or these terms. Changes apply when posted with a new effective date. If a change materially affects a paid plan, we will give any advance notice required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove rights you have already acquired. If you don't agree with an update, stop using the service and cancel any future renewal.
Disputes and governing law
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a dispute informally. These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and disputes may be brought in the courts of Sri Lanka. If you are a consumer, this does not take away any mandatory rights or access to courts or dispute procedures provided by the law where you live.
Copyright concerns
OfficeUtils does not receive, store, or publish the files you process, so there is no user file on our systems for us to take down. If you believe content that we publish on the site infringes your rights, email legal@officeutils.app with enough detail for us to identify and review it.
General terms
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms and any terms shown at checkout form the agreement between you and us about OfficeUtils, subject to rights that applicable law gives you.
